Special Session .

Special Session: Quantum Computing (Sanpawat Kantabutra, PhDTufts)

Quantum computing represents a transformative leap in computational capability — a shift from the binary logic of classical computers to the probabilistic and entangled nature of quantum mechanics. With the ability to process exponentially more information through qubits, quantum systems are poised to revolutionize areas ranging from cryptography and material science to machine learning and optimization.

We are now entering the NISQ (Noisy IntermediateScale Quantum) era, where real-world applications are becoming feasible and innovation is accelerating. Tech giants and research institutions worldwide are heavily investing in quantum technologies, making this the most dynamic and promising frontier in computing.

This special session invites groundbreaking contributions in all areas of quantum computing — theoretical advances, hardware developments, quantum algorithms, quantum simulation, and interdisciplinary applications. By contributing your work, you become part of a global effort to shape the future of computation and scientific discovery.

Special Session: Advancing Healthcare through Artificial Intelligence (Waraporn Boonchieng, Dr.PH Dean of Public Health School, Chiang Mai University)

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming healthcare into a data-driven, personalized, and predictive discipline. From early disease detection using deep learning on medical imaging, to intelligent decision support systems in hospitals, AI has demonstrated measurable improvements in diagnosis accuracy, treatment planning, and patient outcomes.

Recent advances in machine learning, natural language processing, and federated learning have enabled AI systems to analyze vast amounts of clinical, genomic, and behavioral data—unlocking insights that were previously unimaginable. The integration of AI into electronic health records, wearable devices, and telemedicine platforms marks a paradigm shift toward proactive and patient-centered care.

This session invites original research, case studies, and technical innovations that harness AI to solve real-world healthcare challenges. Topics include—but are not limited to—AI for medical imaging, predictive analytics, health informatics, clinical decision support, patient monitoring, ethical AI, and explainability.

We encourage contributions from interdisciplinary teams that bridge computer science, medicine, public health, and data science. Join us in shaping the future of intelligent healthcare systems and making a global impact on health and well-being.

Special Session on “Cognitive Information Processing and Intelligent Systems”

Cognitive Information Processing (CIP) remains a cornerstone for advancing our understanding of human cognition and for shaping the future of human–machine intelligence. It plays critical roles in attention, memory, language comprehension, and learning, while also driving innovations in artificial intelligence (AI) and cognitive computing. Exploring the mechanisms and limitations of human cognition not only enriches our knowledge of the mind but also informs the development of artificial systems that can adapt intelligently to human needs. This special session aims to provide a forum for discussing the intersection of cognitive science and computational technologies. We invite contributions on theoretical, methodological, and applied aspects of CIP that foster both human-centered design and intelligent system development. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

Human Cognition and Information Processing: Perception, attention, memory, and decision-making for improving AI and computational models.

Natural Language Processing (NLP): Cognitive-inspired approaches for language understanding, speech recognition, dialogue systems, and human–AI communication.

Human-Centered UI/UX: Applying cognitive principles of attention and information flow to design effective, intuitive, and adaptive interfaces.

Affective and Emotion Recognition: Integrating emotional intelligence into AI systems for empathetic and socially aware interactions.

Human–Machine Interaction (HMI): Advances in eye tracking, movement analysis, and physiological sensing to enhance human–machine communication.

Biomedical and Neurocognitive Information Processing: Novel techniques for analyzing biomedical signals and imaging in healthcare, diagnostics, and monitoring applications.
